Sports… there is nothing better than watching world-class athletes at their best. This week, Huntsville has the opportunity to host the Korn Ferry Tour’s Huntsville Championship at The Ledges.  After a COVID-19 postponement in 2020, our long two-year wait to welcome some of the world’s best golfers is finally here. Not only is the Korn Ferry Tour the foremost developmental tour in professional golf, but it also strives to benefit local charities in the communities they visit. With the help of Knight Eady, a Birmingham-based sports marketing and event management firm, the Huntsville Championship is no exception.

This year, Bridgeworth is excited to partner with the tour to sponsor the Fore Cyber Progress Scholarship Program. Funds raised through this program will help provide scholarships at the University of Alabama-Huntsville and Alabama A&M for students interested in a cyber-based degree. When asked why this initiative was chosen, Brian Hinson, Bridgeworth Managing Partner in Huntsville, said:

“This alliance allows us to not only help promote the relational life-impacting game of golf in Huntsville and the future stars in professional golf, but also to leverage our investment in the education and success of the future cybersecurity leaders in our community.  We often look to bring entertainment and education together and use our resources in powerful ways to help bridge the gaps in our community, so this is an ideal partnership for Bridgeworth.”

On a personal note, to see someone’s golf career evolve from junior to amateur to professional is a rare thing to witness. However, we have had the privilege to watch fellow North Alabamian Lee Hodges do just that. He is currently ranked 6th on the points list and well on his way to obtaining his PGA Tour card since only the top 25 receive this honor. This event is an opportunity to support our community and see some fantastic golf at the same time.

It is truly an honor for Bridgeworth to team up with the Huntsville Championship and bring both professional golf and educational opportunities to our community.  If you would like to learn more about the event or purchase tickets, please visit www.huntsvillechampionship.com.
