We are pleased to share our 2016 Holiday Giving non-profits making a difference in our communities. Bridgeworth will make a donation to each of these organization in honor of our clients. While there are numerous deserving organizations in our community, we have chosen three that have special meaning to the Bridgeworth members. These organizations have touched the lives of our families and clients this past year and we are proud to support each.
- Oasis Women’s Counseling Center – The mission of Oasis is to help women and children heal, grow and overcome difficult life challenges by providing affordable mental health counseling and innovative education programs in a respectful and nurturing environment. Oasis is one of the few women’s counseling centers in the state, providing services to women throughout the life span, from the very young to the very wise. Oasis provides individual, couples, group, and family counseling, as well as art therapy and play therapy.
- Teach for America Alabama – The mission of TFA is to enlist, develop, and mobilize as many as possible of our nation’s most promising future leaders to grow and strengthen the movement for educational equity and excellence. TFA recruits remarkable and diverse individuals to become teachers in low-income communities. They commit to teach for two years and are hired by our partner public schools across the state. Established in 2010, there are now more than 200 alumni living and working in Alabama, taking on major policy roles, becoming principals, and bringing AP classes, ACT prep, and college-level work to their schools.
- UAH Rise Early Learning Center – The UAH Early Learning Center is a blend of best practices from early childhood education, child development, early childhood special education, and integrated therapy intended to give all children a firm foundation for their future. The learning environment is designed to promote and allow for multidimensional growth: socially, cognitively, physically, and emotionally.
