CASL® – Chartered Advisor for Senior Living
This designation shows a commitment to helping aging clients achieve financial security now and into the future. The CASL® helps these advisors lead clients from middle age through retirement and assist them with managing, preserving, and transferring wealth.
CFA – Chartered Financial Analyst
This designation is given to those who have completed the CFA® Program and completed the three-part exam. The CFA designation includes an understanding of investment tools, valuing assets, portfolio management, and wealth planning.
CFP® – Certified Financial Planner™
This designation is given to those who have completed the experience and ethics requirements and demonstrated attained knowledge and competency to provide comprehensive personal financial planning advice. All CFP professionals have to adhere to high ethical and professionals’ standards, acting as fiduciaries when providing financial advice to clients and always putting their interests first.
CFS® – Certified Fund Specialist
This designation is given to financial industry professionals certified in providing mutual funds assistance. To become a certified fund specialist, a certificate must be acquired from the Institute of Business & Finance (IBF).
ChFC® – Certified Financial Consultant®
This designation covers a must-have list of requirements for financial advisors, from knowledge on tax and retirement planning to special needs advising, wealth management, insurance, and more. ChFC students must pass eight financial planning courses, with a final comprehensive exam on those foundational courses.
ChSNC® – Chartered Special Needs Consultant®
This designation includes specialized training and experience requirements to help manage the unique legal and financial planning needs of individuals with disabilities. ChSNCs take pride in ensuring they can adequately address special needs families’ concerns, hopes, and goals.
CPA – Certified Public Accountant
This designation is given to those that meet education and experience requirements and pass a comprehensive exam. Certified public accountants (CPAs) evaluate financial records for their clients to ensure that they comply with federal, state, and local laws. They also create budget reports and audit financial statements.
CRPC® – Chartered Retirement Planning Consultant
This designation is focused on retirement planning, asset management and estate planning. Financial advisor’s with CRPC gain in-depth knowledge of individuals’ needs both before and after retirement. After a candidate masters the course materials, they must pass a proctored exam. Following a passing grade, they can officially apply for authorization to use the designation.
FPQP® – Financial Paraplanner Designation
This designation is given to those individuals who have demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of financial planning and are dedicated to providing quality service to firm clients and advisor support.
PFS – Personal Financial Specialist
This designation is a specialty credential for CPA’s who are experts at helping individuals with all aspects of wealth management. They help clients plan for short- and long-term goals, such as budgeting for education expenses and saving for retirement, through investments like stocks and bonds. CPAs must have 5 years of full-time business experience (or 7,500 hours equivalent) in personal financial planning to qualify.
RICP® – Retirement Income Certified Professional
This designation is given to a financial expert who helps retirees, or people approaching retirement, develop a plan for ensuring successful retirement income planning.
