Some Jefferson County residents may be eligible for a potential tax break. If you are age 65+ and had your primary home assessed in your name for the previous five years, you can file this form to freeze the assessed value to its value in the preceding year.  You can use this link to find your parcel number. While the assessed value is frozen, the property will continue to be subject to any rate increases, and any additions to the property would increase the assessed value.

You must submit the form in person at the Tax Assessor’s office in the Jefferson County courthouse by April 30, 2023, to freeze the value at its 2022 amount. Bring your driver’s license with you for identification purposes.
