Bridgeworth’s co-founder and former CEO, DeLynn Zell, CFP®, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Savant Wealth Management, a nationally recognized, fee-only registered investment adviser (RIA) that Bridgeworth joined on November 30, 2023. Her appointment was effective January 1, 2024. DeLynn, with 30 years in the industry, serves as a managing director at Savant, overseeing the Alabama market and contributing to firm growth strategies.
DeLynn is a respected voice in the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) industry, having served on the Forbes Financial Council, a collective of invitation-only communities of exceptional business owners and leaders. She was also recently invited to join Schwab’s 20-member National Advisory Council.
Consistently recognized by Forbes among America’s Top Women Wealth Advisors1, DeLynn is passionate about recruiting, mentoring, and developing women advisors in a male-dominated field. Her influence contributed to Bridgeworth having 32% women advisors, over the industry standard of 23%2, 62% women team members, and six women out of 10 management team members.
Under her leadership, Bridgeworth ranked among Forbes’ top RIA firms3, and as one of the largest independent, privately owned RIAs in Alabama. The firm had 57 employees and assets under management (AUM) of approximately $2.2 billion when it joined Savant.
When asked in the past about how to recruit and retain top female advisors, DeLynn has said, “Put women in leadership positions where they can be mentors and role models, and other women are going to gravitate toward them.” Today, she adds, “I look forward to this opportunity on Savant’s board, to not only contribute toward the company’s success but to serve as an encouragement to other women across our industry.”
