The following appeared in the Birmingham Business Journal on Tuesday, November 19. BBJ subscribers can access the story at Financial firm moving HQ from 280 to downtown Bham.

Wealth management and investment advisory firm Bridgeworth LLC is relocating its headquarters to downtown Birmingham.

The firm is moving from 15,000 square feet of space at the Colonnade on U.S. 280, where it leased space for seven years, to 18,000 square feet of leased space in downtown at 101 25th Street North.

The new office is expected to be complete by spring 2020. Financial details were not disclosed. Corporate Realty, Hatcher Schuster Design and Rives Construction are project partners, leading the leasing, design and construction of the firm’s new office.

Since Bridgeworth’s inception, it has experienced annual double-digit growth, and firm leaders say the move positions it for continued growth and will play a key role in expansion plans.

“To fulfill Bridgeworth’s vision of supporting our clients for generations to come, we are preparing for our next phase of growth, building a trusted legacy that lives past our founders,” said Bridgeworth CEO DeLynn Zell. “This milestone is a testament to our firm’s stable growth trajectory and collaborative, collegial work environment that has helped both clients and employees reach their goals.”

Since the firm opened in 2008, it has expanded into Huntsville and has evolved into a regional firm with over $1.5 billion assets under management and 50 team members, including one of the largest groups of certified financial planner professionals in the Southeast.

The new space is in the former Rogers Trading Co. building that also houses Intermark, which led to a renovation of the space in 2007.

Bridgeworth’s space in the building will be transformed into 52 offices with collaborative working spaces, a flexible 90-seat meeting space with catering capabilities, and nine various client meeting rooms. In addition to Bridgeworth’s usage of the space, the space will serve the community as a connection point for educational, roundtable and networking events. The firm said it is excited to be part of the city’s continued momentum and revitalization efforts downtown.
