On February 22nd, the YWCA of Greater Birmingham held its eleventh annual KIDS Korner luncheon downtown at the BJCC. Over five hundred friends of the YW gathered to raise money and show their support for this phenomenal program. KIDS (Kids-In-Distress) Korner is a unique facility which provides childcare to area homeless families free of charge. The children in the program are given a head start through NAEYC, The National Association for the Education of Young Children, an early learning program at the YWCA.

Bridgeworth is proud to be a charter sponsor of this program and continues to support the work of the YWCA. This year, Bridgeworth Advisor Jeris Gaston serves as the President of the Junior Board of the YWCA. At the start of the luncheon, she welcomed guests; explaining how crucial the services are for Birmingham’s homeless population. Kids Korner allows parents the chance to get their lives back on track without worrying about the well-being of their children during the day. Many Bridgeworth advisors and staff have pre-school age children and understand firsthand the importance of not only early childhood education but also the need for quality care.

Kids Korner Luncheon Committee

Thanks to the generous support of the community, the luncheon raised over $174,000 for the KIDS Korner program. We are proud of our Bridgeworth team and for our partnership with the YWCA. Together we can provide a brighter future for Birmingham’s youth.
