Bridgeworth is proud to support the YWCA of Central Alabama through their 8th Annual Kids Korner Luncheon. A sponsor from the luncheon’s inception, Bridgeworth recognizes the amazing work being done in our community, and the work of the YWCA are exceptional. This banner event raises funds for the Kids In Distress childcare center at the YWCA’s downtown Birmingham location. This unique resource is provided free of charge to families residing in Birmingham’s homeless shelters for children eight weeks to five years old.

One of a homeless family’s biggest needs is child care. Without it, parents are unable to seek work and begin to provide for their families. KIDS Korner addresses this need by providing a safe, loving environment for these children to learn, play and re-discover self-worth. It also ensures that they receive special care and individual attention during times of family crisis. Most impressively, KIDS Korner is nationally accredited by the NAEYC (National Association for the Education of the Young Child). Only 8% of childcare centers in the nation are considered NAEYC accredited.

The year, the luncheon is Thursday, February 19th at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center, and all funds raised directly benefit the children in the YWCA’s KIDS Korner Daycare. Last year’s event raised $120,000 for the sweet angels of the YWCA. Bridgeworth’s Jackie Tucker has served on the KIDS Korner committee since its inception and along with advisors Jenny Sneed and Jeff McCormack, is serving again as table hosts. We are also pleased to have advisor Jeris Gaston returning as this year’s luncheon co-chair. To learn more about KIDS Korner, please take a few minutes to watch the video from last year’s luncheon.
