Perks of living in Birmingham:

Birmingham is in the geographic heart of the Southeast–two-and-a-half hours by interstate from Atlanta, four hours from Nashville, six hours from New Orleans and five hours from the beaches of the Gulf of Mexico. Recently named one of the country’s 10 most livable cities it boasts an abundance of indoor and outdoor activities from hiking, biking, fishing, and boating to shopping at trendy malls that have taken root all over the area. Dozens of new art galleries surprise enthusiasts and locals enjoy the downtown resurgence driven by Regions Field ballpark, Railroad Park, the restoration of the Lyric Theatre and the annual Sidewalk Film Festival. And for foodies that may have the city pigeonholed as serving only barbeque and fried food, Birmingham is home to “the Oscars of dining” with James Beard Foundation Award winners and nominees.
